From 1983 forward to the present, one of the greatest things about my collecting/writing career has been the contacts made with other collectors! Sometimes they have had questions, sometime they simply want to talk about their collections or what is happening in the field of collecting.
Sometimes these contacts have even led to visits as the collectors travel in my general area. Occasionally we've had some great show and tell sessions as my visitors share a few pieces they have brought from their collections. I also have a collection of many letters from the days before email and cherish both our written and phone communications. Today it's so much easier with the comment box on my blog and email and even FaceBook.
